Teachable is the platform for you if you’re an entrepreneur or content creator looking for a way to transform knowledge into earnings.
Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) founded by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously called Fedora. Nagpal, a class builder himself, grew frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms needed. So, he decided to create his online learning platform with features that he envisioned his classes and students would like.
In 2020, sources say that Hotsmart acquired Teachable for approximately $250M.

In A Nutshell Teachable Wodprep
Teachable allows one to create and sell online classes and training with videos, quizzes, and lectures. It’s a simple and intuitive interface that makes it an excellent platform for beginners. You don’t have to have a virtual assistant or team member to perform it because it already deals with your sales tracking, payment collections, and affiliates commissions. Instead, you can focus more on course construction.

Who Uses Teachable?
We can’t deny that we would like to take a slice from the ever-growing demand from the fast and booming industry of online learning.
Entrepreneurs, creators, and small business owners that wish to make online courses into a potentially profitable business will find using Teachables to be very excellent. Folks like Pat Flynn of Smart Passive Income utilize Teachable to market their courses to students.
You also have enterprises such as The New York Times, Shopify, and Penn Law.
More than 100,000 founders sold over $1 billion in classes and training for students all over the world as of now.
Here are some of the features I enjoyed in Teachable:
Ease of Use
Teachable’s best feature is being less of a technician headache and more of being your partner-in-arms to a company.
As stated previously, Teachable prides itself on its ease of use. Going around and operating the course will be found easy by tech beginners.
When you register on the site, it leads you to the dashboard. There you may see headers such as users, sites, sales, emails, and courses. It’s pretty straightforward. It is easier for the user to upload documents, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.
Customization
Teachable’s list of partners is pretty extensive making it possible to integrate as many tools as you want. You’ll also realize that it is easy to create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages with their power editor.
Users can select to create an appealing landing page with Teachable’s large selection of themes for your online course website. All you have to do is upload the logos, text, images and choose color schemes to fit your business’ branding.
If you are an advanced user, you have the choice of inserting custom CSS or HTML to the Code Snippets region.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities
It has all the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you would need while trying to analyze your course sales. You can see how well your classes have performed in specific phases.
For higher plans, you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and packages. With this, you can provide your students discounts should they decide to obtain a second course. It’s a good means of increasing conversions.
You can check student registration and engagement when it comes to student tracking. You’ll get reports on how your students interact with your classes, their completion rates, and where the students get stuck.
You do not need to worry about tracking sales and student insights with their comprehensive dashboards. Teachable deals with technology and marketing for you.
Completion Certificates
To get this feature, you’d need a Pro or Business Plan. The course will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and name of the program. You may change elements of your certificate such as logo, colour scheme, and pre-set images. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).
Payment Options
Teachable comes with its own refundable payment processing through Teachable Payments. With this, you don’t have to get a 3rd party for payment processing.
You may choose your payment currency from a broad range of choices. You may even create coupons and discount codes for students and affiliate codes. Teachable will handle affiliate payouts automatically.
Teachable has options like Stripe and PayPal and advanced payment options like Visa and Mastercard.
Your pupils can pay by credit card, debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. You also have the option of charging your classes as one-time purchases, monthly payments, or as a subscription.
Customer Support
The service is responsive. It has an extensive knowledge library with online lessons and lives webinars for common questions you may ask as you begin creating your first course. You can create a ticket if you have any additional queries. Usually, you will hear back from service within 24 hours. Professional Teachable customers have access to live chat service.

Here are a few things I do not like about Teachable now that I have talked about what I liked about it:
- No free plans.
- Teachable does not have a free plan. But, it does offer a 14-day trial.
- 5 percent transaction fees
- There’s a 5 percent transaction fee for people who opt for the Basic plan.
- No phone service.
- There is no telephone number to contact for inquiries.
Why should you attempt it?
I am not the most tech-savvy man out there. Far from it, actually. I have had many a day being very confused about the bunch. But with Teachable, I found it reasonably easy. It does take some time to explore the website, its features, and test stuff out. Comparable to a duck testing the waters first.
You can teach how you want to know by using customization tools to personalize your content. Teachable Wodprep
You don’t have to think about marketing. Teachable has built-in features to take care of taxes, payouts, affiliates, and authors. So all you have to worry about is making the content you want to sell.
To Sum It Up
For complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who want to focus more on course creation than the business’s tech and marketing aspect, Teachable is an approachable platform.
Teachable helps you turn the online courses you may make on any subject you love into a business. Why not start today?
