Teachable is the platform for you if you’re an entrepreneur or content creator searching for a way to transform knowledge into income.
Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) founded by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously called Fedora. Nagpal, a course builder himself, decided to create his own online learning platform with characteristics he envisioned his courses and students would enjoy after getting frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms had.
In 2020, sources say that Hotsmart obtained Teachable for about $250M.

Here are some of the features I liked in Teachable:
Ease of Use
Teachable’s best feature is being less of a technician hassle and more of being your partner-in-arms to a business.
As stated previously, Teachable prides itself on its ease of use. Going around and operating the program will be found easy by tech novices.
When you register on the website, it leads you to the dashboard. There you may see headers like users, websites, sales, emails, and classes. It’s pretty straightforward. It is easier for the user to upload files, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.
Customization
Teachable’s list of partners is fairly extensive making it possible to incorporate as many tools as you want. You will also realize that you can easily create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages with their power editor.
Teachable offers a large choice of topics for your online course site that you can select to create an appealing landing page. All you have to do is upload the logos, text, images and select color schemes to fit your business’ branding.
If you are an advanced user, you have the choice of inserting custom CSS or HTML into the Code Snippets Area.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities
When you are attempting to analyze your course sales, Teachables has all of the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you’d need. You can see how well your classes have performed in specific periods.
You can offer your students discounts should they choose to obtain another course when you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and bundles from availing higher plans. It is a fantastic means of increasing conversions.
In regards to student monitoring, you can check student registration and engagement. You will receive reports on how your students interact with your courses, their completion rates, and in which the students get stuck.
Teachable deals with tech and marketing for you so you don’t need to worry about tracking sales and student insights with their comprehensive dashboards.
Completion Certificates
You’d need a Pro or Business Plan to get this feature. The course will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and title of the course. You may change elements of your certificate like logo, color scheme, and pre-set images. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).
Payment Options
You do not need to get a 3rd party for payment processing as Teachable comes with its own refundable payment processing through Teachable Payments.
You can choose your payment currency from a wide range of choices. You can even generate coupons and discount codes for students and affiliate codes. Teachable will manage affiliate payouts automatically.
Teachable has options like Stripe and PayPal and advanced payment options like Visa and Mastercard.
You have the choice of charging your classes as one-time purchases, monthly payments, or as a subscription which your pupils can pay by credit card, debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

Now that I’ve talked about what I enjoyed about Teachable, here are a few things I don’t like:
- No free plans.
- Teachable doesn’t have a totally free plan. But, it does offer a 14-day trial.
- 5 percent transaction fees
- There is a 5 percent transaction fee for people who opt for the Basic plan.
- No phone service.
- There’s no telephone number to contact for inquiries.
Why should you try it?
I am not the most tech-savvy person out there. Far from it, actually. I have had many a day being the most confused about the crowd. But with Teachable, I found it reasonably simple. Comparable to a duck testing the waters first, It does take some time to explore the web site, its features, and test stuff out.
You can teach how you want to learn by using customization tools to personalize your content. Teachable Procreate
You don’t have to think about marketing. Teachable has built-in features to look after payouts, taxes, affiliates, and writers. So all you have to worry about is making the content you want to sell.
To Sum It Up
For complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who want to focus more on course production than the business’s tech and marketing aspect, Teachable is an approachable platform.
You can create your online course on any topic you love, and Teachable helps you turn that into a business. Why not start today?
