Teachable is the platform for you if you’re an entrepreneur or content creator searching for a way to transform knowledge into earnings.
Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) based by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously called Fedora. Nagpal, a course builder himself, grew frustrated over the lack of direct accessibility to students some platforms needed. So, he decided to create his own online learning platform with characteristics that he envisioned his courses and students would like.
In 2020, sources state that Hotsmart obtained Teachable for about $250M.

As mentioned earlier, Teachable prides itself on its simplicity of use. Going around and operating the program will be found easy by tech novices.
When you register on the website, it leads you to the dashboard. There you may see headers like users, websites, sales, emails, and courses. It is pretty straightforward. It is easier for the user to upload documents, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.

Here are a few things I do not like about Teachable now that I’ve talked about what I enjoyed about it:
- No free plans.
- Teachable doesn’t have a free plan. But, it does offer a 14-day trial.
- 5% transaction fees
- There’s a 5 percent transaction fee for people who opt for the Basic plan.
- No phone service.
- There’s no telephone number to contact for inquiries.
Why should you attempt it?
I’m not the most tech-savvy person out there. Far from it, actually. I’ve had many a day being the most confused about the bunch. However, with Teachable, I found it fairly easy. It does take some time to explore the website, its features, and test stuff out. Comparable to a duck testing the waters .
You can teach how you would like to learn by using customization tools to personalize your content. Teachable Intake Form
You don’t need to worry about marketing. All you’ve got to worry about is making the content that you wish to sell since Teachable has built-in features to take care of payouts, taxes, affiliates, and authors.
