If you’re an entrepreneur or content creator searching for a way to transform knowledge into earnings, Teachable is the platform for you.
Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) founded by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously called Fedora. Nagpal, a course builder himself, grew frustrated over the lack of direct accessibility to students some platforms needed. So, he decided to create his online learning platform with features he envisioned his classes and students would like.
In 2020, sources state that Hotsmart acquired Teachable for approximately $250M.

Here are some of the features I liked in Teachable:
Ease of Use
Teachable’s best feature is being less of a technician headache and more of being your partner-in-arms to a business.
As stated earlier, Teachable prides itself on its simplicity of use. Tech novices will find it easy to go around and operate the program.
The dashboard is the first thing a user would see after registering on the site. There you may see headers such as users, websites, sales, emails, and classes. It is pretty straightforward. Uploading files, reviewing analytics, issuing refunds, and communication with students becomes a lot easier for the user.
Customization
Teachable’s list of partners is fairly extensive making it possible to incorporate as many tools as you want. You’ll also realize that it is easy to create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages using their power editor.
Users can select to create an attractive landing page with Teachable’s large choice of themes for your online course site. All you’ve got to do is upload the logos, text, images and select color schemes to fit your business’ branding.
You have the option of inserting custom CSS or HTML to the Code Snippets Area if you’re an advanced user.

Completion Certificates
You would need a Pro or Business Plan to get this feature. The class will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and name of the course. You may change aspects of your certificate such as logo, colour scheme, and preset pictures. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).

Here are a few things I do not like about Teachable now that I have talked about what I enjoyed about it:
- No free plans.
- Teachable doesn’t have a free plan. However, it does offer a 14-day trial.
- 5 percent transaction fees
- There’s a 5% transaction fee for people who opt for the Basic plan.
- No phone support.
- There is no phone number to contact for inquiries.
Why should you attempt it?
I’m not the most tech-savvy person out there. Far from it, actually. I have had many a day being the most confused about the bunch. But with Teachable, I found it fairly simple. Comparable to a duck testing the waters first, It does take a while to explore the website, its features, and test stuff out.
You can teach the way you want to learn by using customization tools to personalize your content. Hebrews Be Teachable
You don’t have to think about marketing. All you have to worry about is making the content you wish to sell since Teachable has built-in features to look after taxes, payouts, affiliates, and writers.
To Sum It Up
Teachable is an approachable platform for complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who wish to concentrate more on course production than the business’s technology and marketing aspect.
You may make your online course on any topic you love, and Teachable helps you turn that into a business. Why not start now?
