Teachable is the platform for you if you are an entrepreneur or content creator looking for a way to transform knowledge into earnings.
Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) based by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously called Fedora. Nagpal, a course builder himself, grew frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms had. He decided to create his online learning platform with characteristics he envisioned his classes and students could enjoy.
In 2020, sources state that Hotsmart obtained Teachable for about $250M.

We can’t deny that we want to take a slice from the ever-growing demand from the quick and booming industry of online learning.
It’s ideal for entrepreneurs, creators, and small business owners that want to make online courses into a potentially profitable business. Folks like Pat Flynn of Smart Passive Income utilize Teachable to sell their courses to students.

Here are some of the features I liked in Teachable:
Ease of Use
Teachable’s best feature is being less of a technician hassle and more of being your partner-in-arms to a business.
As stated previously, Teachable prides itself on its ease of use. Tech novices will find it easy to go around and operate the program.
When you register on the site, it leads you to the dashboard. There you may see headers like users, sites, sales, emails, and courses. It’s pretty straightforward. It is easier for the user to upload documents, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.
Customization
Teachable’s list of partners is pretty extensive making it possible to incorporate as many tools as you want. You will also realize that it is easy to create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages using their power editor.
Teachable offers a large selection of themes for your online course site that you can select to create an attractive landing page. All you’ve got to do is upload the logos, text, images and choose color schemes to fit your business’ branding.
If you are an advanced user, you have the option of inserting custom CSS or HTML to the Code Snippets region.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities
When you are attempting to analyze your course sales, Teachables has all the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you would need. You can see how well your classes have performed in specific phases.
For higher plans, you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and packages. With this, you can offer your pupils discounts should they choose to obtain a second course. It’s a good means of increasing conversions.
When it comes to student monitoring, you can check student enrollment and engagement. You’ll get reports on how your students interact with your classes, their completion rates, and in which the students get stuck.
Teachable deals with tech and marketing for you so you don’t need to worry about monitoring sales and student insights with their comprehensive dashboards.
Completion Certificates
You’d need a Pro or Business Plan to access this feature. The course will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and name of the course. You may change elements of your certificate such as logo, colour scheme, and pre-set images. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).
Payment Options
You don’t need to find a 3rd party for payment processing as Teachable comes with its own refundable payment processing through Teachable Payments.
You may select your payment money from a wide assortment of choices. You may also generate coupons and discount codes for students and affiliate codes. Teachable will handle affiliate payouts automatically.
Teachable has options like Stripe and PayPal and advanced payment options like Visa and Mastercard.
You have the option of charging your courses as one-time purchases, monthly payments, or as a subscription which your pupils can pay by credit card, debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
Customer Support
The service is responsive. It has a comprehensive knowledge library with online lessons and lives webinars for common questions you might ask as you start creating your first course. But, if you have any additional queries, you can create a ticket. Normally, you’ll hear back from service within 24 hours. Professional Teachable customers have access to live chat support.

Here are some things I don’t like about Teachable now that I have talked about what I liked about it:
- No free plans.
- Teachable doesn’t have a free plan. However, it does offer a 14-day trial.
- 5 percent transaction fees
- There’s a 5% transaction fee for people who opt for the Basic plan.
- No phone support.
- There’s no telephone number to contact for inquiries.
Why should you attempt it?
I am not the most tech-savvy man out there. Far from it, actually. I have had many a day being the most confused about the bunch. However, with Teachable, I found it reasonably easy. It does take a while to explore the website, its features, and test stuff out. Comparable to a duck testing the waters .
You can teach the way you want to learn by using customization tools to personalize your content. Kotor 2 Teachable Feats
You don’t need to worry about marketing. All you have to worry about is making the content you wish to sell since Teachable has built-in features to look after payouts, taxes, affiliates, and authors.
To Sum It Up
For complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who want to concentrate more on course creation than the business’s tech and marketing aspect, Teachable is an approachable platform.
You may make your online course on any topic you love, and Teachable helps you turn that into a business. Why not start now?
