If you’re an entrepreneur or content creator looking for a way to transform knowledge into income, Teachable is the platform for you.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) based by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously known as Fedora. Nagpal, a class builder himself, grew frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms had. So, he decided to create his own online learning platform with characteristics that he envisioned his courses and students would like.

In 2020, sources state that Hotsmart acquired Teachable for about $250M.

Completion Certificates

To access this feature, you would need a Pro or Business Plan. The class will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and name of the program. You may change aspects of your certificate like logo, color scheme, and pre-set images. Here are a few things I don’t like about Teachable now that I have talked about what I liked about it:

  • No free plans.
  • Teachable does not have a totally free plan. But, it does offer a 14-day trial.
  • 5 percent transaction fees
  • There is a 5% transaction fee for people who opt for the Basic plan.
  • No phone service.
  • There is no telephone number to contact for queries.

Why should you try it?

I am not the most tech-savvy man out there. Far from it, actually. I’ve had many a day being very confused about the crowd. However, with Teachable, I found it reasonably easy. It does take a while to explore the website, its features, and test stuff out. Comparable to a duck testing the waters first.

You can teach the way you would like to learn by utilizing customization tools to personalize your content. Teachable Enroll Students

You don’t have to think about marketing. All you’ve got to worry about is creating the content that you wish to sell since Teachable has built-in features to look after taxes, payouts, affiliates, and authors.

To Sum It Up

For complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who want to focus more on course creation than the business’s technology and marketing aspect, Teachable is an approachable platform.

You can create your online course on any topic you love, and Teachable helps you turn that into a company. Why not start now?
