Teachable is the platform for you if you’re an entrepreneur or content creator looking for a way to transform knowledge into earnings.
Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) founded by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously known as Fedora. Nagpal, a course builder himself, grew frustrated over the lack of direct accessibility to students some platforms had. He decided to create his own online learning platform with features that he envisioned his classes and students would enjoy.
In 2020, sources state that Hotsmart acquired Teachable for about $250M.

Here are some of the features I enjoyed in Teachable:
Ease of Use
Teachable’s best feature is being less of a tech hassle and more of being your partner-in-arms to a business.
As mentioned earlier, Teachable prides itself on its ease of use. Tech beginners will find it easy to go around and operate the course.
The dashboard is the first thing a user would see after registering on the site. There you will see headers like users, sites, sales, emails, and courses. It’s pretty straightforward. It is a lot easier for the user to upload files, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.
Customization
You can incorporate as many tools as you need as Teachable’s list of partners is fairly extensive. You’ll also find that it is easy to create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages with their power editor.
Teachable offers a large selection of topics for your online course site that you can select to create an attractive landing page. All you have to do is upload the logos, text, images and choose color schemes to fit your business’ branding.
You have the choice of inserting custom CSS or HTML into the Code Snippets region if you are an advanced user.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities
It has all of the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you would need while trying to analyze your course sales. You can see how well your courses have performed in specific phases.
For higher plans, you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and packages. With this, you can provide your pupils discounts should they choose to buy a second course. It is a fantastic way of increasing conversions.
In regards to student tracking, you can check student enrollment and engagement. You will receive reports on how your students interact with your courses, their completion rates, and in which the students get stuck.
Teachable deals with tech and promotion for you so you do not need to worry about monitoring sales and student insights with their comprehensive dashboards.
Completion Certificates
You would need a Pro or Business Plan to get this feature. The class will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and name of the course. You may change aspects of your certificate like logo, color scheme, and preset pictures. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).
Payment Options
Teachable comes with its in-built payment processing through Teachable Payments. With this, you don’t need to get a 3rd party for payment processing.
You can select your payment money from a wide assortment of choices. You may also create coupons and discount codes for students and affiliate codes. Teachable will manage affiliate payouts automatically.
Teachable has options like Stripe and PayPal and advanced payment options like Visa and Mastercard.
You have the option of charging your courses as one-time purchases, monthly payments, or as a subscription which your students can pay by credit card, debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
Customer Support
The service is responsive. It has a comprehensive knowledge library with online lessons and lives webinars for common questions you may ask as you begin creating your first class. You can create a ticket if you have any additional questions. Normally, you will hear back from service within one day. Professional Teachable customers have access to live chat support.

Here are some things I don’t like about Teachable now that I have talked about what I enjoyed about it:
- No free plans.
- Teachable doesn’t have a free plan. However, it does offer a 14-day trial.
- 5 percent transaction fees
- There’s a 5 percent transaction fee for people who opt for the Basic plan.
- No phone service.
- There’s no telephone number to contact for inquiries.
Why should you attempt it?
I’m not the most tech-savvy person out there. Far from it, actually. I have had many a day being the most confused about the crowd. However, with Teachable, I found it reasonably easy. It does take some time to explore the web site, its features, and test stuff out. Comparable to a duck testing the waters first.
You can teach the way you would like to know by utilizing customization tools to personalize your content. Youtube Mastery Course Teachable
You don’t have to worry about marketing. All you’ve got to worry about is creating the content you wish to sell since Teachable has built-in features to look after payouts, taxes, affiliates, and authors.
To Sum It Up
Teachable is an approachable platform for complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who want to focus more on course creation than the business’s tech and marketing aspect.
