If you are an entrepreneur or content creator looking for a way to transform knowledge into earnings, Teachable is the platform for you.
Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) founded by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously known as Fedora. Nagpal, a class builder himself, grew frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms had. He decided to create his own online learning platform with features he envisioned his classes and students would like.
In 2020, sources state that Hotsmart acquired Teachable for about $250M.

Who Uses Teachable?
We can not deny that we would like to take a slice out of the ever-growing demand from the quick and booming industry of online learning.
It’s excellent for entrepreneurs, creators, and small business owners who want to make online courses to a potentially profitable business. Folks like Pat Flynn of Smart Passive Income use Teachable to sell their courses to students.
You also have enterprises such as The New York Times, Shopify, and Penn Law.
As of this moment, more than 100,000 founders sold over $1 billion in courses and training for students all around the world.
Here are some of the features I enjoyed in Teachable:
Ease of Use
Teachable’s best feature is being less of a technician hassle and more of being your partner-in-arms to a company.
As stated earlier, Teachable prides itself on its simplicity of use. Tech novices will find it easy to go around and operate the course.
When you register on the site, it leads you to the dashboard. There you will see headers like users, websites, sales, emails, and classes. It’s pretty straightforward. It is a lot easier for the user to upload documents, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.
Customization
You can integrate as many tools as you need as Teachable’s list of partners is pretty extensive. You will also find that you can easily create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages with their power editor.
Teachable offers a large choice of topics for your online course site that you can select to create an attractive landing page. All you’ve got to do is upload the logos, text, images and select color schemes to fit your business’ branding.
You have the option of inserting custom CSS or HTML to the Code Snippets region if you are an advanced user.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities
When you are trying to analyze your course sales, Teachables has all of the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you would need. You can see how well your courses have performed in specific periods.
For higher plans, you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and bundles. With this, you can offer your students discounts should they decide to obtain a second course. It’s a fantastic way of increasing conversions.
You can check student registration and engagement when it comes to student monitoring. You’ll get reports on how your students interact with your classes, their completion rates, and where the students get stuck.
Teachable deals with tech and promotion for you so you don’t need to worry about tracking sales and student insights with their comprehensive dashboards.
Completion Certificates
To get this feature, you’d need a Pro or Business Plan. The course will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and name of the program. You may change aspects of your certificate such as logo, colour scheme, and pre-set images. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).
Payment Options
You don’t have to find a 3rd party for payment processing as Teachable comes with its own refundable payment processing through Teachable Payments.
You can select your payment money from a broad range of choices. You may even create coupons and discount codes for students and affiliate codes. Teachable will manage affiliate payouts automatically.
Teachable has options like Stripe and PayPal and advanced payment options like Visa and Mastercard.
You have the option of charging your classes as one-time purchases, monthly payments, or as a subscription which your pupils can pay by credit card, debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
Customer Support
The service is responsive. It has a comprehensive knowledge library with online lessons and lives webinars for common questions you may ask as you start creating your first course. Butif you have any additional queries, you can create a ticket. Normally, you will hear back from support within one day. Professional Teachable customers have access to live chat service.

Now that I have talked about what I enjoyed about Teachable, here are a few things I don’t like:
- No free plans.
- Teachable doesn’t have a free plan. However, it does offer a 14-day trial.
- 5% transaction fees
- There is a 5 percent transaction fee for people who opt for the Basic plan.
- No phone service.
- There is no phone number to contact for inquiries.
Why should you attempt it?
I’m not the most tech-savvy man out there. Far from it, actually. I have had many a day being the most confused about the crowd. However, with Teachable, I found it reasonably easy. It does take some time to explore the web site, its features, and test stuff out. Comparable to a duck testing the waters first.
You can teach how you would like to learn by using customization tools to personalize your content. Images For Teachable Sales Page
You don’t have to think about marketing. Teachable has built-in features to take care of payouts, taxes, affiliates, and writers. So all you have to worry about is making the content that you want to sell.
To Sum It Up
Teachable is an approachable platform for complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who want to concentrate more on course production than the business’s tech and marketing aspect.
Teachable helps you turn the online courses you can create on any subject you love into a business. Why not start now?
