If you’re an entrepreneur or content creator searching for a way to transform knowledge into income, Teachable is the platform for you.
Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) founded by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously called Fedora. Nagpal, a course builder himself, grew frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms needed. He decided to create his online learning platform with characteristics he envisioned his courses and students could enjoy.
In 2020, sources say that Hotsmart obtained Teachable for about $250M.

Here are some of the features I liked in Teachable:
Ease of Use
Teachable’s best feature is being less of a tech headache and more of being your partner-in-arms to a business.
As stated previously, Teachable prides itself on its simplicity of use. Tech beginners will find it easy to go around and operate the program.
When you register on the site, it leads you to the dashboard. There you will see headers such as users, websites, sales, emails, and courses. It is pretty straightforward. Uploading documents, reviewing analytics, issuing refunds, and communicating with students becomes easier for the user.
Customization
It is possible to integrate as many tools as you need as Teachable’s list of partners is pretty extensive. You will also find that it is easy to create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages with their power editor.
Teachable offers a large selection of themes for your online course site that you can select to create an appealing landing page. All you’ve got to do is upload the logos, text, images and select color schemes to fit your business’ branding.
If you’re an advanced user, you have the option of inserting custom CSS or HTML into the Code Snippets region.

You do not need to worry about tracking student and sales insights with their comprehensive dashboards. Teachable deals with technology and promotion for you.
Completion Certificates
To access this feature, you’d need a Pro or Business Plan. The class will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and name of the program. You may change aspects of your certificate such as logo, colour scheme, and preset pictures. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).

- 5 percent transaction fees
- There is a 5% transaction fee for those who opt for the Basic plan.
- No phone support.
- There’s no phone number to contact for inquiries.
Why should you try it?
I am not the most tech-savvy person out there. Far from it, actually. I’ve had many a day being the most confused about the crowd. But with Teachable, I found it fairly easy. It does take some time to explore the website, its features, and test stuff out. Akin to a duck testing the waters .

You don’t need to think about marketing. Teachable has built-in features to look after payouts, taxes, affiliates, and writers. So all you have to worry about is making the content you want to sell.
