Teachable E Course Management

teachable-review

If you’re an entrepreneur or content creator searching for a way to transform knowledge into earnings, Teachable is the platform for you.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) based by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously known as Fedora. Nagpal, a course builder himself, grew frustrated over the lack of direct accessibility to students some platforms needed. He decided to create his online learning platform with characteristics he envisioned his classes and students could like.

In 2020, sources say that Hotsmart acquired Teachable for about $250M.

In A Nutshell Teachable E Course Management

Teachable allows one to create and sell online courses and training with videos, quizzes, and lectures. It’s a simple and intuitive interface that makes it an outstanding platform for beginners. It deals with your sales tracking, payment collections, and affiliates commissions. Thus, you don’t have to have a virtual assistant or team member to perform it. Alternatively, you can focus more on course construction.

Who Uses Teachable?

We can’t deny that online learning is a fast and booming industry. And we want to take a slice from the ever-growing demand.

It’s ideal for entrepreneurs, creators, and small business owners that wish to create online courses into a potentially profitable business. Teachable is used by folks like Pat Flynn of Smart Passive Income to market their courses to students.

You also have enterprises like The New York Times, Shopify, and Penn Law.

As of this moment, more than 100,000 founders sold over $1 billion in classes and coaching for students all around the world.

Here are some of the features I enjoyed in Teachable:

Ease of Use

Teachable’s best feature is being less of a technician hassle and more of being your partner-in-arms to a business.

As stated previously, Teachable prides itself on its simplicity of use. Tech novices will find it easy to go around and operate the course.

When you register on the website, it leads you to the dashboard. There you will see headers such as users, sites, sales, emails, and courses. It’s pretty straightforward. It is a lot easier for the user to upload documents, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.

Customization

Teachable’s list of partners is fairly extensive making it possible to incorporate as many tools as you want. You will also find that you can easily create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages using their power editor.

Users can select to create an attractive landing page with Teachable’s large choice of themes for your online course website. All you’ve got to do is upload the logos, text, images and select color schemes to fit your business’ branding.

If you are an advanced user, you have the option of inserting custom CSS or HTML into the Code Snippets region.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities

When you’re trying to analyze your course sales, Teachables has all of the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you would need. You can see how well your classes have performed in specific phases.

You can provide your students discounts should they choose to obtain a second course when you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and bundles from availing higher plans. It’s a good means of increasing conversions.

You can check student enrollment and engagement when it comes to student monitoring. You will receive reports on how your students interact with your classes, their completion rates, and where the students get stuck.

Teachable deals with tech and marketing for you so you do not need to worry about tracking sales and student insights with their comprehensive dashboards.

Completion Certificates

To access this feature, you would need a Pro or Business Plan. The course will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and title of the program. You may change aspects of your certificate like logo, colour scheme, and pre-set images. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).

Payment Options

Teachable comes with its in-built payment processing via Teachable Payments. With this, you do not need to get a 3rd party for payment processing.

You can select your payment currency from a wide assortment of choices. You may also create coupons and discount codes for students and affiliate codes. Teachable will manage affiliate payouts automatically.

Teachable has options like Stripe and PayPal and advanced payment options like Visa and Mastercard.

Your students can pay by credit card, debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. You also have the option of charging your classes as one-time purchases, monthly payments, or as a subscription.

Customer Support

The service is responsive. It has an extensive knowledge library with online lessons and lives webinars for common questions you may ask as you begin creating your first class. Butif you have any additional queries, you can create a ticket. Usually, you will hear back from support within one day. Professional Teachable customers have access to live chat support.

What Plans can I avail?

Teachable enables customers to choose one of three options: Basic, Pro, and company.

Now that I have talked about what I liked about Teachable, here are some things I do not like:

  • No free plans.
  • Teachable doesn’t have a free plan. However, it does offer a 14-day trial.
  • 5% transaction fees
  • There’s a 5% transaction fee for people who opt for the Basic plan.
  • No phone service.
  • There is no telephone number to contact for inquiries.

Why should you try it?

I am not the most tech-savvy man out there. Far from it, actually. I have had many a day being the most confused about the bunch. But with Teachable, I found it fairly easy. It does take a while to explore the website, its features, and test stuff out. Akin to a duck testing the waters .

You can teach the way you would like to learn by using customization tools to personalize your content. Teachable E Course Management

You don’t need to think about marketing. Teachable has built-in features to take care of taxes, payouts, affiliates, and writers. So all you’ve got to worry about is creating the content that you want to sell.

To Sum It Up

Teachable is an approachable platform for complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who wish to concentrate more on course production than the business’s tech and marketing aspect.

You may make your online course on any topic you love, and Teachable helps you turn that into a company. Why not start now?
