Teachable is the platform for you if you’re an entrepreneur or content creator looking for a way to transform knowledge into earnings.
Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) founded by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously called Fedora. Nagpal, a course builder himself, decided to create his online learning platform with features he envisioned his courses and students could enjoy after getting frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms had.
In 2020, sources say that Hotsmart obtained Teachable for approximately $250M.

Here are some of the features I liked in Teachable:
Ease of Use
Teachable’s best feature is being less of a tech hassle and more of being your partner-in-arms to a business.
As stated earlier, Teachable prides itself on its simplicity of use. Tech novices will find it easy to go around and operate the course.
When you register on the website, it leads you to the dashboard. There you may see headers such as users, websites, sales, emails, and courses. It’s pretty straightforward. Uploading documents, reviewing analytics, issuing refunds, and communicating with students becomes a lot easier for the user.
Customization
Teachable’s list of partners is fairly extensive making it possible to incorporate as many tools as you want. You will also find that you can easily create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages with their power editor.
Users can select to create an attractive landing page with Teachable’s large choice of topics for your online course site. All you have to do is upload the logos, text, images and select color schemes to fit your business’ branding.
If you are an advanced user, you have the option of inserting custom CSS or HTML to the Code Snippets region.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities
When you’re attempting to analyze your course sales, Teachables has all of the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you’d need. You can see how well your classes have performed in specific phases.
For greater plans, you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and packages. With this, you can provide your students discounts should they choose to obtain a second course. It is a good way of increasing conversions.
In regards to student tracking, you can check student registration and engagement. You’ll get reports on how your students interact with your classes, their completion rates, and in which the students get stuck.
Teachable deals with tech and promotion for you so you do not need to worry about monitoring sales and student insights with their comprehensive dashboards.
Completion Certificates
To get this feature, you’d need a Pro or Business Plan. The class will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and title of the program. You may change elements of your certificate such as logo, colour scheme, and preset pictures. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).

You don’t need to find a 3rd party for payment processing as Teachable comes with its in-built payment processing via Teachable Payments.
You may select your payment currency from a broad assortment of choices. You may even generate coupons and discount codes for students and affiliate codes. Teachable will handle affiliate payouts automatically.

- 5 percent transaction fees
- There’s a 5 percent transaction fee for people who opt for the Basic plan.

Why should you try it?
I am not the most tech-savvy person out there. Far from it, actually. I have had many a day being the most confused about the bunch. But with Teachable, I found it reasonably easy. It does take a while to explore the web site, its features, and test stuff out. Comparable to a duck testing the waters first.
You can teach the way you want to learn by utilizing customization tools to personalize your content. Custom Teachable Navigation Bar
You don’t need to worry about marketing. All you’ve got to worry about is making the content you wish to sell since Teachable has built-in features to take care of payouts, taxes, affiliates, and authors.
To Sum It Up
Teachable is an approachable platform for complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who wish to focus more on course creation than the business’s tech and marketing aspect.
